A key area that a client may choose to work on with their personal coach is fulfillment.  Here, the  focus is on what is truly valuable and fulfilling in your life.  In this area of work and inquiry, we may explore questions such as:

bullet

What brings you your greatest joy?

bullet

What are the things you truly value?

bullet

Are you honoring those values in each area of your life?

bullet

How can your life be more effortless?

bullet

What makes you feel passionate and alive?

Defining what "fulfillment" is for you is a very personal and individual process.  It is also constantly evolving.  For example, the things you found fulfilling 5 or 10 years ago may no longer give you the same contentment.  Looking ahead, the things that you will find fulfilling 10 years from now may be different from your current sense of fulfillment.

Interestingly, while most of us crave a fulfilling life, not many of us take the time to really figure out and name the things that we truly value and find satisfying.  We are pulled in so many different directions, it seems there is no time to consider values and fulfillment -- leaving us feeling  vaguely dissatisfied.  The point, then, is to actively craft a life you will find more fulfilling, starting with today.

Closely tied to the issue of fulfillment is the issue of life balance.  Here, you will work with your personal coach to objectively  examine each area of your life,  assess where you are today in terms of satisfaction, and  then decide where you would like to be instead.  What are the things that you would like to devote more time to?  What are the changes you would  most like to make?  What are your goals in each of the following areas of your life:

bulletCareer / Workplace
bulletFinances / Money
bulletHealth / Exercise
bulletFamily / Friends
bulletRomance / Significant Other
bulletPersonal Growth / Self Care
bulletFun / Recreation
bulletHome / Physical Environment

While we may feel stuck in a rut, or like we are just spinning our wheels, we also tend to limit ourselves by the barriers to change that we put in place for ourselves. Here you work with your coach to remove the barriers to change, so that you  can more clearly consider all the different possibilities and perspectives, and actively plan for each desired goal.

Several times in our life we may be presented with significant life transitions.  It  may be a career change,   separation/divorce, retirement, a layoff or other transition.  The coaching relationship offers valuable non-judgmental  support and  guidance, while you go through the process of these life transitions.

"Toleration" is a concept developed by Thomas Leonard of Coach U.  What are “Tolerations”?  You know what they are … first and foremost, tolerations are things that drain our energy.  They bug us !  They use up valuable time, they sap our enthusiasm and strength.

Tolerations should be dealt with one at a time.  Eventually, you will work through them all –- you will become a “Toleration-Free Zone”.  In this area of work with your personal coach, you will define your top two “tolerations” (or more) in several categories, such as:

bullet

Home & Office Repairs

bullet

 Faulty Car, Appliances & Equipment

bullet

 Personal Finances & Debt

bullet

Personal Integrity , Problems & Stress

bullet

 Feelings & Reactions

bullet

Body & Appearance

Tolerations can, and should, be eliminated.   This frees up your energy and enthusiasm for the things that you love.
